Praying Scripture Over Your Daughter
Day 8 Prayer— Pride/Confidence
My Lord Jesus,
Thank You for dying on the cross so that we may live with You in heaven forever. Thank you that You shed Your blood for us on that special day. In accordance with Your Word, I pray that my daughter will always remember that it is “Not by might, nor by power, but by Your Spirit.” Jesus, I ask You today not to allow pride to become a part of my daughter’s life. Help her to always be humble with the gifts that You have blessed her with and to use them only for Your kingdom and Your Glory. And let me lead by example. I command all pride to leave our family, right now, in the name of Jesus.
Holy One, You are my daughter’s strength. Help her to be confident as a child of God and to remember that pride goes before destruction and haughtiness before a fall. Help me, as a parent, to teach her to be meek and exhibit self-control; and please forgive me, Lord, of times when I have been prideful and over-confident. Let her confidence come from You and not from her own doing. Give her the faith to believe that she can do all things because You give her strength.
Teach my daughter not to be prideful, but instead fill her with a healthy spiritual confidence. Help me to build her up in a loving manner and to speak truth over my her life. You say that in our pride, the wicked do not seek you, and in all their thoughts, there is no room for God. Allow my daughter to confidently seek you with every question she might have. Let her always say, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
Thank You Jesus, I pray that my daughter will always be content, humble, and exhibit self-control.
The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.
But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.
In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
