Pray For Your Daughter – Anger

Praying Scripture Over Your Daughter

Day 9 Prayer— Anger

Eternal God,

Your Word says that You are slow to anger and quick to forgive. Your anger lasts only a moment, but Your favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Lord, You are compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in love and faithfulness.

Forgive me, Lord, and show me how to be slow to anger and quick to forgive. Help me to hold my tongue and to keep silent when I need to be. These scriptures speak right where I need Your help. Help me to be compassionate and gracious at all times with my daughter, even when I am tired, hurting or having a hard day, because a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

As my daughter gets older, let her not be quickly provoked in her spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools. Help her to get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

Sweet Jesus, please surround my daughter with the right people, who reflect Your goodness. Give her friends who will speak truth into her life. Help my daughter not to make friends with a hot-tempered person and not to associate with one easily angered, for your Word says this. And whenever she does get angry, do not let her sin during that time, but help her to control her temper and to ask for forgiveness if need be. Help my daughter to never go to bed angry, but to be the first one to say, “I’m sorry.” And I also pray that, later in the future when she is married, her spouse will be quick to listen, slow to speak and become angry, quick to forgive and full of love for You, O Lord.

Thank you Heavenly Father for turning Your anger away from my precious daughter.

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.

In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.

My dear brother and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.
