Pray for Your Son — Love

happy-boyPraying Scripture Over Your Son

Day 1 — Love

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are Love. You sent Your Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. Your greatest commandment given to us was to love You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. And the second commandment is like it, to love our neighbors as ourselves. We also know that nothing can separate us from Your love: not death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation.

Lord, I pray right now for love for my son, my lovely son. Jesus, fill him with Your Agape love throughout his entire life. Please, give him a heart that overflows with love for You and for others. Keep my son from loving the things of this world such as money, immorality, or even other people, more than he loves You. I pray that he will be a kind, compassionate and a loving person to all he meets. And I pray that my son will show love to his enemies, as well as to his friends.

Jesus, I confess that I don’t always do a good job at loving others, so please help me to teach my son that love is patient and love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.

Prince of Peace, thank You for loving my son with Your selfless, sacrificial, undeniable, unfailing, unconditional love which You humbly and freely give to each of us.

In Your loving name I pray,

Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. [f] 31 The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself.’[g] There is no commandment greater than these.
